Abia Warriors Hopeful for Return to Umuahia Township Stadium after NPFL Inspection

Officials and fans of Abia Warriors Football Club in Umuahia are optimistic about playing their home matches at the newly rehabilitated Umuahia Township Stadium.

A delegation from the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), led by Mr Perilla Aboro, conducted an inspection of the stadium’s natural grass.

While expressing satisfaction with the improvements, Aboro pledged to report his findings to the NPFL. Although no official statement has been released regarding the stadium’s status, Abia Warriors’ officials and supporters are hopeful that the team will soon be permitted to play home matches in Umuahia.

The club’s Chairman, John Obuh, emphasized the engagement of experts in rehabilitating the playing turf and urged the NPFL to lift the sanction on the stadium. Chief coach Erasmus Onu and supporters present during the inspection conveyed their belief that playing in Umuahia would boost the team’s performance.
