Akwa United’s Technical Adviser, Mohammed Babaganaru, has emphasized that building team cohesion and understanding will be the main focus for his squad during the upcoming pre-season tournament in Yenagoa.
The tournament, which kicks off today and runs until Sunday, August 18, will see all matches played at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa. Speaking to the club’s media team, Babaganaru highlighted the importance of using the tournament to strengthen team dynamics rather than focusing solely on match results.
“To be honest, we won’t really be looking at results but the understanding and team cohesion in real match situations will be our major concerns here in Yenagoa,” Babaganaru stated.
He further explained that achieving these goals during the tournament would be crucial in building a formidable team for the upcoming season. Babaganaru also mentioned the introduction of new players into the squad, noting that the tournament presents a valuable opportunity for these fresh legs to prove their readiness to compete for the club.
“This is indeed a good opportunity for me and my technical team to properly evaluate the team we have ahead of the new season,” he added.
