Pinnick Holds First AGM Of Second Tenure

Date:

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Melvin Amaju Pinnick will on Wednesday in Asaba, Delta State oversee the first annual general meeting of the soccer governing body in his second term.

Footballlive.ng can report that the NFF’s 74th Annual General Assembly will take place in Asaba about a month after Pinnick broke a jinx, in becoming the first man to gain re-election as the president of the body.

At the democratically composed NFF elective congress in Katsina on 20th September, Pinnick broke the duck of Nigeria’s soccer bosses always failing to return for a second term, due to fishy undercurrents and politicking among stakeholders.

Consequently, Wednesday’s AGM, which will hold same day with the final of this year’s Federation Cup in the same city, is the first in the life of the executive committee of the term from 2018 to 2022.

Expected at the meeting are members of NFF Congress, full compliment of the executive committee, management, guests, accredited observers, referees, ex-players, journalists, coaches and schedule officers.

The Congress is made up of chairmen and secretaries of all 36 states football associations and Federal Capital Territory, as well as those of League Management Company (LMC), Nigeria National League (NNL), Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), Nigeria Nation-Wide League One, Players’ Union, Coaches Association and Referees Association.

The opening ceremony is set for 12 noon, with Delta State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa expected with members of his executive council.
