Aiteo Cup 2018: Rivers Angels retains Aiteo Cup trophy in Yenagoa

Date:

Rivers Angels has retained the 2018 Aiteo Cup trophy they won in 2017 after they beat last years foe Ibom Angels 1 – 0 in the final played at the Samson Siasia stadium, Yenagoa in Bayelsa state.

The side tutored by former Super Falcons handler Edwin Okon went ahead just two minutes after the break through Juliet Sunday in the 47th minute from a corner kick.

Ibom Angels who lost last season’s final to River Angels controlled the tempo of the encounter but were unable to get a clear cut opportunity at goal throughout the match.

Rivers Angels have now won the trophy 8 times back to back.
