Falconets assistant Captain, Rasheedat Ajibade has expressed deep hurt following the team’s elimination from the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in the quarter-final against Spain on Thursday.
Nigeria lost 2-1 in a hard-fought win by the European U-19 Champions, who also advanced to the semi-final for the first time in the tournament.
Ajibade delivered the death blow against China in the final group game to help Nigeria progress to the knock-out rounds, however, she failed to find the same magic against the Europeans at the Stade Guy Piriou in Concarneau.
In a social media post after the game, the 18-year-old striker appreciated the chance to captain the team and thanked the fans for their support.
