20 Super Eagles Player Present in First Training Session

The Super Eagles of Nigeria held their first training session on Tuesday ahead of their Group D AFCON qualifiers fixtures against Libya.

The national team camp opened on Sunday and players started trooping in after completing their matches in their respective clubs.

Fasil Kenema goalkeeper, Amas Obasogie was the first to arrive in camp, followed by Victor Boniface, Raphael Onyedika, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and others.

As at Tuesday evening, a total of 20 players were reported to have arrived in camp. The first training was held in the Godswill Apkabio Stadium at 5pm with all players present.

On Wednesday, October 9, there will be a media parley with the Super Eagles players. A pre-match press conference will be held on Thursday, October 10th at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

The Super Eagles will host Libya in Uyo on Friday for matchday 3 of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers before heading to Libya for the second leg on October 15 at Benghazi.

Nigeria hold four point into the match after defeating Benin Republic 3-0 in their first group stage match and settling for a goalless draw against Rwanda in their second game.

Libya on the other hand played a 1-1 draw with Rwanda and lost 2-1 to Benin Republic in their second game.

At the end of Matchday 2, Nigeria tops the group table with 4 points while Libya sits on the bottom with 1 point.

Rwanda will also face Benin Republic in a double header match in the other group games.
