Nigeria Will Seek Away Win Under Floodlights

Date:

The Super Eagles will have to brave cold weather and night fright to overcome Libya once again on Tuesday, as footballlive.ng has learnt that the second leg of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier will hold under floodlights in Sfax, Tunisia.

Considering that the match is billed to kick-off 7pm Tunisia time, the Eagles might also have to wear long-sleeved jerseys to overcome some of the expected chill and keep some cold out.

With the arena expected to be lit up by floodlights, there is also the tendency for the Nigerian players to struggle under ‘artificial’ conditions, compared to ‘natural light’ they had in the first leg that started 4pm Nigeria time.

Under the ‘normal’ conditions at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, the Eagles flew to a stunning 4-0 win, but the chances of them repeating that feat have been reduced to a large extent by different conditions expected during Tuesday’s game.

The Eagles, who were scheduled to fly out to Tunisia from Uyo at 8am on Monday, aboard a chartered flight, will face a temperature of between 20 and 27 degrees in Sfax.
