Rohr Promises Different Tactics For Reverse Fixture

Date:

Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has hinted that he will roll out a different game plan and tactical approach for Tuesday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya, footballlive.ng can report.

Although the Franco-German tactician admitted he was satisfied with his team’s performance in their 4-0 first leg victory on Saturday, he stressed that different approach is needed for the reverse fixture.

Rohr also acknowledged that the Libyans will put up a stiff reaction in the return leg on Tuesday, in order to redeem their status after the huge defeat they suffered on Saturday.

Victory in Sfax could take the Libyans back on top of the table, as they still have four points, two behind Nigeria and three short of table topping South Africa, who play away to Seychelles also on Tuesday.

However, Rohr said he is already preparing for response from the North Africans, and believes he will come up with the right tactics to cut short their ambitions.

Rohr voiced: “We have to expect a very difficult match in Sfax, but our plan is to do well and be very serious in the second leg.

“It will be more difficult, because this team lost 4-0. When you lose 4-0 and you have the chance to play three days later, you want to show that you are better than 4-0.

“That is why this is a dangerous result, because it is not a humiliation for them but they really want to show that they are better than this 4-0.

“We will approach the game differently and ensure we record another win.”
