Leicester City stars, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi will on Friday join their teammates, coaches and officials on The Foxes’ official bus for a three hour road trip to Cardiff City.
Iheanacho and Ndidi will not have the pleasure of travelling by air with their pals, as The Foxes are wont to do, as footballlive.ng learnt that club’s management is still apprehensive after the death of their owner.
The Foxes are still in mourning, after Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha died in a helicopter crash on Saturday, following the team’s 1-1 draw, in which Ndidi scored the equaliser in the home tie, and the fear of flying has now struck the team.
Consequently, after opting not to call off Saturday’s English Premier League fixture away to Cardiff, as they did for Tuesday’s Carabao Cup clash against Southampton, Leicester’s stars will travel by road.
The Foxes will travel by road after deciding that going by plane would be insensitive to their 60-year-old owner, Srivaddhanaprabha, who died on Saturday, along with four others, when his helicopter crashed after taking off from King Power Stadium.
The club, though, added that the EPL match against The Bluebirds on Saturday, will go ahead as scheduled, with a minute’s silence observed beforehand and all players wearing black armbands in honour of the late Thailand tycoon, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.
It is their first game since Saturday’s helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Khun Vichai and four others, as the midweek Carabao Cup tie against Southampton was postponed due to the weekend’s events.
