Moses Gets Charge ‘To Improve’ From Sarri

Date:

Chelsea winger, Victor Moses has received another wake up call for improvements in his game from The Blues’ gaffer, Maurizio Sarri.

Although Sarri is still keeping sealed lips on any categorical statement about Moses’ future at Stamford Bridge, footballllive.ng can report that the Italian gaffer wants the Nigerian star to step up his form.

In the wake of another torrid weekend for Moses, Sarri stopped short of declaring Moses surplus to requirements, nor did he confirm that the star could leave Chelsea on loan or permanently when the transfer window reopens in January.

The ex-Super Eagles star’s contract runs until June 2021, which might be reason why Sarri is refraining from sticking his neck out for the star’s future, but insits Moses cannot fit into his formation.

Moses flourished under Sarri’s compatriot and predecessor, Antonio Conte, who used to set up his team in a 3-4-3 formation and the star twinkled after he was converted to play as a wing-back.

However, Sarri stressed at the weekend that Moses has not been able to adjust to the new pattern the team is playing under his tenure and the winger is struggling in the coach’s 4-3-3 system.

Moses started 54 Premier League games while Conte was in charge, but has not made the starting lineup this season, with Eden Hazard, Willian and Pedro ahead of him in the pecking order of wingers.

Sarri expatiated: “Moses is more suitable for playing wing-back than like a winger or a full-back, I think. (Moses will) have to improve.”
