Super Eagles snub will kill Morale of Best NPFL Players

Kano Pillars midfielder Ikenna Paul says tough times lay ahead for the NPFL if the NFF and Super Eagles coaches continue to snub players on the home front.

Ikenna insists the quality in the league may suffer some more if players leave the country because they don’t get the recognition they deserve for playing at home.

 

The 2014 CHAN star urged the FA to institute a policy that will allow Coaches pick players from the NPFL; on performance basis, in a quota system.

 

‘It’s high time the NFF and the Technical Adviser of the Eagles seriously considered inviting more NPFL players into the team.

‘What we risk by continuously ignoring the calls for more NPFL players in the Eagles is hurting the profile of our premier league and forcing players out.

 

‘You can’t develop your home league by simply inviting foreign based players all the time to the national team. So, we need to do something about it,’ Ikenna told Brila.net
