President of the South African Football Association Danny Jordaan has congratulated Nigeria and the Super Falcons for retaining the Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana Beating the Bayana Bayana in the final played on Saturday December 1 in Accra Ghana.

 

In a letter sent to the Nigeria Football Federation General Secretary Dr Mohammed Sanusi and obtained by footballlive.ng, the SAFA boss through the acting Chief Executive Officer Russell Paul said. “On behalf of the SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan, the SAFA National Executive Committee and the entire SAFA Membership, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and your team on your success at CAF Women’s AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS, GHANA 2018.

 

You gave us a real fight for the crown and came out victorious, and we salute you. Congratulations too for your qualification for the World Cup in France 2019, and we look forward to joining you in carrying the torch for AFRICA!”

 

South Africa booked automatic qualification to the FIFA Women World Cup to be played in France in 2019 after beating Mali 2 – 0 in the semi final of the just concluded tournament in Ghana. This will be the first Women World Cup final appearance for the South African ladies.

 

Nigeria ‘s Super Falcons beat South Africa 4 -3 on penalties after the game ended goalless after normal regulation time and extra 30 minute.
