Falcons Await Women’s World Cup Draw On Saturday

Date:

The Super Falcons will on Saturday know their group rivals at next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, as footballlive.ng reports that the draw ceremony holds this weekend at La Seine Musicale in Paris.

Les Bleus of France coach, Didier Deschamps, Brazilian midfielder Kaka, ex-Manchester United striker Luis Saha and former England women’s player Alex Scott will be among the array of stars to conduct the draws.

Falcons’ striker, Desire Oparanozie, who plays for Guingamp of France, has been cited among the many who will don their national teams’ jerseys in the country where they ply their soccer trade.

For Oparanozie and others, the trip to France next summer will not be too difficult, due to the fact that they currently play for French clubs.

Joining Oparanozie in the France connection are Lindsay Horan (United States), who formerly played for Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Wang Shuang (China PR), Ashley Lawrence (Canada), Christiane Endler (Chile) and Irene Paredes (Spain), who are all currently part of the Parisians.

Others are Dzsenifer Marozsan (Germany), Lucy Bronze (England), Shanice van de Sanden (Netherlands) and Saki Kumagai (Japan) in Lyon, where they are based, and where the semi-finals and final will be held.

Who, therefore, is better placed to welcome the supporters from their respective countries who are planning on making the trip to cheer on their favourite players in the spirit of things?

Be they Brazilian, Swedish, Chilean, Spanish, Canadian, Chinese, Dutch, French, Nigerian, or of one of the many other nationalities that will be represented during the competition, they all sent the same message in a FIFA video tagged: Welcome to France, and Dare to Shine!
