Sporting Charleroi of Belgium attacker, Victor Osimhen is facing a €3m transfer obstacle from his parent club, VfL Wolfsburg of Germany, who footballlive.ng gathered are insisting on collecting that amount before they agree to a January move for him to Ajax Amsterdam of Holland.
The Dutch club are in the hunt for Osimhen, due to his haul of goals in Belgium, but Wolfsburg want to hold out for a big payday or take him back next month, despite not giving him a breakthrough when he spent three years in their squad.
The Wolves have launched a spirited move to lure Osimhen back next season, as he has been offered an extension with a pay rise by the former German Bundesliga champions, based on his form at Charleroi. During his time at Wolfsburg, Osimhen struggled with injuries and failed to hit top form, but he has blossomed in Belgium, which has once again alerted Ajax to his availability next year.
Incidentally, Ajax had been in the hunt to sign Osimhen right after his his exploits at the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup before he decided to join Wolfsburg.
However, Ajax will fancy their chances of signing him permanently next summer, with three of their first team players set to leave, around same time Osimhen’s loan deal with Charleroi will come to an end.
Although Charleroi have first option on a permanent deal, they could be priced out by Wolfsburg’s €3m fee and add ons for the 19-year-old star.
