Mikel Obi terminates his contract with Tianjin Teda.

The former Chelsea star who joined the Chinese side Tianjin Teda in January 2017 on a three-year contract as a free agent has had his contract terminated few days back with a year to spare.

 Last season, Mikel’s appearances were less due to injuries challenges faced during the season.
 It was known that his team Tianjin Teda narrowly escaped relegation form the Chinese Super League last season .
It could be recalled that In 2013, he was valued on the transfer market at 23 million Euros while plying his trade with Chelsea FC in the EPL.
Mikel Obi is presently is on a devalued sum  of 3.5 million Euros in the transfer market after he cost Chinese club Tianjin Teda 11 million Euros, according to Transfermarkt.com.
The 31-year-old midfielder has officially been listed as clubless since yesterday, January 3, 2019.
Many are insinuating he’s termination of his contract with the Chinese side is based on the Chinese Super League (CLS) policies of no more multiple bonuses and salary slash on foreign players.
