Wikki Tourists goalkeeper Ibrahim Pius praised his team for their efforts on Wednesday afternoon, as he reflected on the vital win over Bendel Insurance.
The Giant Elephants pipped the Benin Arsenal 1-0 in a rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash.
“I want to congratulate the whole team,” Ibrahim Pius reflected afterwards to Footballlive.ng.
“Every single one of us did our jobs well. We ran and ran and that work ethic was what won us such a vital League victory.
“The coach simply asked us to ensure that we scored – that was his basic objective.
“He warned us that Bendel Insurance would be a very good side, hard to play against, and they were.
“I must admit that I was impressed – they did pretty much everything except score. Now we face a difficult match against MFM FC so we must win it.”
