U-20 AFCON: We can stop free scoring Senegal – Amajitas coach Thabo Senong

Ahead of their semi final clash against the junior Teranga Lions of Senegal on Wednesday at the ongoing CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations head coach of South Africa’s U-20 team Thabo Senong has stated that his boys are ready and looking sharp and are sure of picking the final ticket if they make less mistakes against Senegal.

The Amajitas finished second in group A and will face the free scoring Senegalese team that has scored a total of nine goals in three matches conceding just once winning all their group stage games.

Despite going into the match as underdogs Thabo Senong said he is confident his boys can pull a shock result as they have plans to stop their opponents from scoring. “We know that it is not going to be an easy game for either side. Senegal come into this encounter without having lost a single match. We will do everything in our power to thwart them of this scoring opportunities while creating our own.”

With Senegal scoring a minimum of two goals per match Senong has told his wards to keep 100 percent focus during the entire duration of the match. “I made the players aware that we need to remain focused, we will need to be performance driven because having such an attitude will help us in pushing for a positive result in the match.”

Meanwhile Senegal’s national U-20 coach Joseph Koto has promised to get the needed result against South Africa to reach the final promising that the trophy is their ultimate target.
