Troost-Ekong Marvels Over Beating Chievo Verona

Date:

Udinese of Italy defender, William Troost-Ekong is still marveling over his side’s victory at the weekend, as he believes it was a hard-earned win at home, against struggling Chievo Verona.

Rather than get carried away by the scoreline at Dacia Arena on Sunday, Troost-Ekong is introspect, and footballlive.ng can report that the Super Eagles star admits it did not come easy.

However, Troost-Ekong is looking ahead of his side’s next outing, as they prepare to visit SS Lazio on February 25 in Rome, and believes it would be the right way to consolidate on their burst to 15th spot on the table.

The former Tottenham Hotpusr of England youth team player, who has also had stint with Haugesund of Hungary, KAA Gent of Belgium and Bursaspor of Turkey, was on for 90 minutes of Sunday’s game, while Stefano Chuka Okaka was replaced in the 57th minute.

It turned out to be tougher than expected against Serie A’s last placed team, but Troost-Ekong is happy that his side still carried the day, even after Lukasz Teodorczyk’s late penalty was saved, but he was able to tap in the rebound to give Udinese victory.

In reaction to the fesity encounter at his team’s home ground, Troost-Ekong took to social media and stated curtly: “+3 #ForzaUdinese – at Dacia Arena.”
