Peter Utaka Heads To Vejle Boldklub

Date:

Few days after celebrating his 34th birthday, former Super Eagles striker, Peter Utaka could be on his way to another lease of life for his career at Vejle Boldklub.

Utaka, who is currently clubless after three years in Japanese football, where he has played for three different clubs, is set to be offered a contract by Vejle, after convincing them during a week of trials.

This comes after the Danish top-flight outfit sold Nigerian-Brazilian striker, Dominic Uzoukwu to Beijing Enterprises in the January transfer window for a £1.53 million fee and he is set to be replaced by Utaka.

The well-travelled striker, who previously wore the colours of OB Odense, scoring 52 goals in 108 appearances in the Danish Superliga, was most recently at FC Tokyo of Japan, where he scored eight times in 25 matches in the J. League.

Utaka himself is interested in penning a deal with Vejle, even if it means a significant reduction in his wages compared to what he earned in China and Japan.

Maasmechelen, Westerlo, Royal Antwerp, Dalian Aerbin, Beijing Guoan, Shanghai Shenxin, Shimizu S-Pulse and Sanfrecce Hiroshima are the other teams he has represented.
