Tickets are still on sale for the June 2 international friendly between England and Nigeria, but they cost almost an equivalent of N34, 000 for soccer fans willing to take a flight with the Super Eagles to watch the game live at Wembley Stadium, London.
This much has been confirmed by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), which disclosed at the weekend that a seat in the 90,000 capacity ‘Home of Football’ would see each fan part with £70 (which is about N34, 000).
However, there are concessions of £10 off ticket price for students, under-16s and senior citizens on purchase of the ticket which has been on sale since March 21 and would end on match day.
England have played Nigeria on two previous occasions at senior level, a 1-0 friendly victory at Wembley in 1994 when David Platt scored the winner, before sharing a goalless draw at the 2002 World Cup finals in Japan.
The three-time African champions will provide an important test for Gareth Southgate’s squad as the Three Lions finalise preparations for group games with Tunisia, Panama and Belgium at the World Cup.
The symbiotic match will also provide Nigeria’s tactician, Gernot Rohr an opportunity to make his final 23-man World Cup list expected to be released and submitted to FIFA not later than June 4.
