Technical Director of current NPFL champions, Enyimba, Finidi George has expressed his admiration for the competitive nature of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title race, describing it as fantastic.
He believes that the intense competition among teams vying for the league title will enhance the chances of league players being selected for various national teams.
Currently, five teams are in contention for the league title: Lobi Stars, Plateau United, Rangers, Remo Stars, and defending champions Enyimba.
Speaking to the club’s media, Finidi remarked, “The competition has been fantastic this season also. That’s what we expect so that we can have our players picked for the national team as well.”
Finidi George and his boys won the league title after a brilliant campaign which saw them beat immediate past champion Rivers United to it in the final game of the NPFL Championship Playoff in Lagos, pipping Remo Stars on goals difference.
