Iwobi Goal Not Enough As Fulham Falter

Date:

The Molineux Stadium was the venue as Fulham fell to a first defeat in three games. The Londoners came into this one following wins over Manchester United and Brighton, before succumbing to a 2-1 loss.

The first half was a tale of missed chances as Fulham created multiple attempts from their inferior possession count, but failed to convert any of their 8 goal attempts in the first half. Wolves had just one attempt in the first half despite having 56% possession in the first period.

The second half was lit up in the 52nd minute as Rayan Aït Nouri converted a chance created by Toti Gomes to put Wolves ahead. A second goal for Wolves came 15 minutes after the first as Tom Cairney put the ball past his own goalkeeper in unfortunate circumstances.

Fulham commanded 61% of the ball in the second half, creating 15 goal attempts. But only 4 of those attempts were on target, with Alex Iwobi scoring their only goal in the 98th minute, a mere consolidation for their efforts.

Fulham now gear up for a London derby as they will now host Tottenham Hotspur at the Craven Cottage, they remain 12th on the log with 35 points.
