Njoku Confident Ahead of Oriental Derby

Abia Warriors captain, Augustine Njoku, has expressed the team’s readiness for the upcoming oriental derby against Heartland. Njoku revealed that the primary goal for the Umuahia-based outfit is to sustain by their unbeaten streak.

Since the departure of former head coach Erasmus Onuh, Abia Warriors have notched up a series of impressive performances without tasting defeat. Njoku remains optimistic about securing a positive result against Heartland at the Awka City Stadium on Wednesday.

Speaking to the club’s media, Njoku emphasized the significance of their unbeaten run as a morale booster for the team. He stated, “The unbeaten run is a good one for the team which shows the team are coming back to winning ways.”

With determination and high spirits, Njoku highlighted the team’s intention to reclaim the points dropped at home in the previous fixture against Heartland. Anticipating a fiercely contested match, Njoku affirmed, “Our game against Heartland, we are going there to retrieve the points we dropped at home last week. We are going all out to get the maximum points.”

Reflecting on the current league dynamics, Njoku acknowledged the diminishing influence of home advantage, underscoring their commitment to securing victory away from home.

As they brace for the challenging encounter, Abia Warriors under Njoku’s leadership are poised to deliver a spirited performance and aim for nothing less than a triumph in the upcoming derby.
