Sunshine Queens thrashed Honey Badgers 2-0 to advance to the next stage in the Women’s President Federation Cup Round of 16 fixture.
Bolaji Olamide and Aluba Ogba scored the goals for the Owena Whales.
Head Coach Rafiu Oseni, credited the victory to discipline and praised his players for their hard work.
“We took our time to work on the inadequacies we discovered in the first match and thank God our efforts were not in vain,” Oseni said in a post-match interview.
“For us to progress further in the competition, we have to also assess ourselves from every department and work on the areas we are not doing well so that we can be stronger,” he added.
Sunshine Queens will face Delta Queens in the quarter-finals, with the date and venue to be announced by the organizers.
