Taheer Abubakar has arrived in Maiduguri as in on the verge of finalizing his transfer from the Nigeria National League side, Inter Lagos to the President Federation Cup champions, El-Kanemi Warriors.
The 20-year old left winger caught the attention of El-Kanemi Warriors during the NNL Super Eight playoff in Enugu.
Reports indicate that the club initially offered a two-year contract but Abubakar prefers and is expected to sign a one-year contract with the Borno Army.
El-Kanemi Warriors, who were promoted last season, are back in the Nigeria Premier Football League and hopes to conclude talks and sign in the coming days.
Taheer Abubakar is expected to bolster Aliyu Zubairu’s team for the new season.
