AA Gent of Belgium winger, Moses Simon is at the centre of a disagreement between officials of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and doctors of the Super Eagles, due to their different views on his injury copped in training with the national team.
While the Eagles’ doctors believe two cans were sufficient to prove that Simon will not be able to recover early enough to play at the World Cup, top shots of the NFF have allegedly told the player follow the team to Englandon Wednesday in order to get a third check.
Eagles coach, Gernot Riohr, however, played down any undercurrents in the matter, as he confirmed that another scan will be carried out on Simon before a final decision is taken on the winger leading up to the team’s flight to Russia.
Rohr’s statement, though, was a tactful shift from his earlier affirmative declaration on Sunday, when he said the 22-year-old star would be out for up to three weeks, and had to be dropped from the World Cup squad because he will not recover in time.
“Moses has sustained an injury and the medical staff expects that he will be out for three to four weeks. Another examination will be done,” Rohr said.
