The Abia State government has rewarded the players and management of Abia Warriors Football Club for their historic achievement of reaching the finals of the 2023/2024 FA Cup.
This is the first time Abia Warriors will qualify for the FA Cup finals but was however defeated by the El Kanemi warriors.
Governor Otti, hosting the team at his country home in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, congratulated them for making the state proud and remained confident that they will win the FA Cup in the future.
“Clearly I can say without any fear of contradiction, the next time around, you will lift the FA Cup,” Governor Otti declared.
“By next week, you will get a coaster bus for the team. The other things in the shopping list, we will take them one after the other as our resources allow,” he said.
On behalf of the state government, Governor Otti announced a donation of N30 million to the players and personally gifted them N5 million
