Ndidi Turns To God For Complete Recovery

Date:

Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi has added a spiritual angle to his search for complete recovery from a hamstring injury that has put his World Cup ambitions on the line, as he says he is seeking the grace of God to pull through.

All this comes after Ndidi suffered a hamstring injury while in action for Leicester against Crystal Palace towards the end of the English Premier League season, and missed the last two matches for his club.

However, as he counts down to the decisive moment on Saturday, when his fitness would finally be put to test with an outing in the friendly against England, Ndidi said he hopes to be okay for the game and the World Cup by the grace of God.

Ndidi also missed the Eagles’ training sessions in Uyo and Port Harcourt, as well as the match against DR Congo, but he is staying upbeat about his chances of making the final list on June 4.

When asked if he will be fit for the World Cup next month, Ndidi replied: “Yes, by God’s grace. I will say I am good and fine.

“I am looking forward to the World Cup. We just look forward to it and then go all the way for it, every game is very important.

“All I have to say is for them to keep supporting the Super Eagles and then pray for the team, just sit down, relax and enjoy the football.
