Akwa Ibom is set to witness a new era of football excellence as Godswill Akpabio United FC prepares for its debut in the 2024/2025 Nigerian National League, NNL.
Reports confirm that the club has completed the necessary registration and is preparing to recruit players and officials ahead of the upcoming season.
During a courtesy visit to the Akwa Ibom State Football Association (FA) at the Uyo Township Stadium, the General Manager of the club,
Mr. Kufre Inima shared the vision behind Godswill Akpabio United FC.
He highlighted that the club’s mission is to unite Akwa Ibom youths and showcase their talents on both national and international stages.
“Our target is to qualify for the NPFL next season,” Inima said, while also emphasizing the club’s commitment to working closely with the State FA.
In response, the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom FA, Mr. Samuel Umoh, applauded the club’s management for their proactive approach in collaborating with the football body, noting that such partnerships are vital for football development in the state.
Godswill Akpabio United FC will use the Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium as their home ground.
This historic stadium has previously hosted NNL matches involving local teams such as Cofine FC and Ibom Youths FC.
