Rangers Midfielder Faces Disciplinary Action After Red Card

Date:

Rangers Technical Adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu reveals that midfielder Kazeem Ogunleye will face disciplinary action following his red card in the club’s 1-0 win against Ikorodu City.

Ogunleye was sent off for unsportsmanlike behavior during the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash against the newly promoted side at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.

Ilechukwu stated, “I’m so sad about it. Sometimes, if you are not disciplined, you pay a big price for it.”

”We won’t only leave Ogunleye out; we are going to punish him. We all know the referee’s decision is final, that is what we have been telling the players.”

”I think Ijaball will be very happy, I saw him smiling up there because he is one of the player that will give his team pressure, we will look at the player that will fill the space.”

Rangers are now set to face Remo Stars in their next NPFL fixture on Sunday.

Ahead of their clash with Remo Stars, Fidelis Ilechukwu has labeled the Sky Blue Stars as the strongest team in the NPFL this season.

Currently sitting at the top of the table, Remo Stars are being tipped by Ilechukwu as favorites for the 2024-25 NPFL title.

“I think the team at the top of the NPFL summit, Remo Stars, are the strongest this season.”

“As for Rangers, we will definitely sit on the fence and wait because Remo Stars, Kano Pillars, Enyimba, and Shooting Stars are up there above us after our Continental ouster.”
