Enyimba FC midfielder Elijah Akanni has expressed excitement ahead of the club’s highly anticipated clash with Rivers United.
The People’s Elephants are set to face the unbeaten Pride of Rivers in a blockbuster NPFL Matchday Four fixture for the 24/25 season, which will take place in Port Harcourt.
Akanni, a fan favourite among the Enyimba faithful, shared his thoughts on the upcoming encounter, acknowledging the challenge posed by their opponents.
“I know it’s going to be an interesting one. We’ll be playing against a well-managed side that is still unbeaten,” Akanni said.
“We’ve also not started badly. I’m looking forward to an intriguing encounter.”
The match will see Enyimba go up against their former coach, Finidi George, who now manages Rivers United.
The two sides are set to battle it out this Sunday in what promises to be a thrilling contest.
