Victor Boniface – “How I Survived Ghastly Car Crash in Germany”

Nigerian striker, Victor Boniface, has opened up about the terrifying car crash he was involved in on October 20, sharing how he the ordeal.

The Bayer Leverkusen forward posted a video on Instagram showing the wreckage of the car after the accident, which took place in Germany.

Recounting the incident in a recent interview, Boniface explained that he was with a childhood friend from Nigeria, who was driving at the time.

“I was having my childhood friend from Nigeria; they were coming to visit. So, we were supposed to pick them up from the airport. I was sleeping, and my other friend was driving.”

Boniface recalled waking up to find the car out of control. The car was completely written off in the accident, however, Victor Boniface stated that his survival was the key takeaway.

“I woke up, and we were spinning—well, we thank God. The car spun three times before coming to a stop.”

“I just had a scar, but the most important thing is that I’m alive,” he said, reflecting on the experience.”

“The car is written off and everything, but the most important thing is life for me,” he added.

Boniface’ search for international goals will continue after shooting blank once again in the Just concluded 2025 AFCON Qualifiers.

He was substituted in the first game against Gernot Rohr’s Benin Republic which ended 1-1, and started Nigeria’s second qualifier fixture against Rwanada which ended in a 2-1 defeat.
