Alexander-Arnold Ruled Out of Liverpool’s EFL Semi-Final Clash

Date:

Liverpool right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold has been ruled out of Thursday’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Tottenham Hotspur due to a thigh injury.

The England international sustained the injury during Liverpool’s 2-0 Premier League victory over Bournemouth on Saturday, forcing him to leave the pitch in the 70th minute.

Speaking in a press conference on Wednesday, Liverpool manager Arne Slot confirmed Alexander-Arnold’s absence and expressed uncertainty over his availability for their upcoming league match.

“Yeah, he is going to miss the game tomorrow. And we have to see if he is able to play Sunday. But what we do know is he not available tomorrow.”

“You saw he left the pitch with pain in his leg. That’s why he will miss the game tomorrow. But he’s already on the pitch, not with the team but with the rehab coach.”

“Let’s see how long it’s going to take. We don’t have many injuries apart from Trent now for maybe a few days.”

In his absence, 21-year-old Conor Bradley is expected to start. Bradley, who has previously deputized for Alexander-Arnold in the Champions League against PSV, also featured in the first leg against Tottenham.

Liverpool heads into Thursday’s match at Anfield looking to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit, with a place in the Carabao Cup final at stake.
