Team Success Over Limited Starts at AC Milan – Samuel Chukwueze

Date:

AC Milan winger, Samuel Chukwueze says the club’s ambitions remain his top priority despite his personal desire for more playing time.

Ahead of Milan’s 2-2 draw against Fiorentina on Saturday, Italian media had predicted a rare start for the Nigerian forward following a string of impressive cameos.

However, Chukwueze was once again left out of the starting XI by manager Sergio Conceição, continuing a stretch of 11 consecutive Serie A matches where he has come off the bench.

Speaking to DAZN ahead of the game, the 25-year-old acknowledged the importance of the team’s collective mission over individual ambitions.

“A game in which the entire group wants to fight to win the game.”

”We know the importance of the game, but also of the path we are taking and will take in the coming weeks. We will have to remain plugged in,” Samuel Chukwueze said.

“The priority is the group and the solidity of our team, then obviously I would like to play a bit more, but the team comes first.”

Chukwueze has started just eight Serie A games this season but has been a regular presence in Milan’s matchday squad, featuring in 32 matches across all competitions, with five goals and one assist to his name.

In the league, he has made 23 appearances, contributing three goals, as Milan continue their push for a strong finish to the season.

Despite his limited minutes, the Nigerian remains one of Serie A’s top dribblers and is determined to help the Rossoneri stay competitive on all fronts.
