Tianjin Teda of China midfielder, John Mikel Obi has disclosed that one huge positive he is picking from his experience of the World Cup in Russia is the quality of facilities on offer and says the Super Eagles have enjoyed their stay in Vladimir Putin’s country.
Though the Eagles started the competition on a losing note, in a 2-0 slump to Croatia, the Nigerian captain says that did not stop him from admiring what the Russians have to offer and wishing to stay on much longer.
The ex-Lyn Oslo of Norway and Chelsea of England star, whose wife, Olga, is a Russian, side he would love to see more of the East European country.
Mikel further said he is satisfied with the training facilities at the Eagles camp in the floral and serene region of Essentuki.
He said: “We have enjoyed Russia so far. We have been able to work and train well. The training facilities, hotel and the people have been great.
”I think it’s good, the field is very good, the fans and the children who came to support us are amazing.
”It was nice that after the first training we had the opportunity to give some autographs to the guys. We are in a very good place.”
