New signing at Stoke City of England, Oghenekaro Etebo has refuted widespread talk in various football circles that the Super Eagles lack a credible goal scorer, as he insists the team has made players who can convert chances.
In spite of critical comments trailing the form of Odion Jude ighalo and other attackers in the Eagles before and during Russia 2018, the ex-Warri Wolves, CD Feirense of Portugal and Las Palmas of Spain dazzler insists the Nigerian team have reliable scorers.
“We don’t lack goal scorers. We scored in the World Cup qualifiers – not just in our home games but also away – otherwise we wouldn’t be here,” said Etebo, who was the only player from Africa named in the FIFA best 11 for the first stage of group matches.
