Abia Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Martin Okoji has reiterated the State Government’s support for Enyimba in their quest for success in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup.
The People’s Elephants have a difficult game against Djoliba in Bamako on Sunday.
According to the Commissioner the team will be travelling to Bamako on Friday for the Group C battle.
“The team will be leaving the shores of Nigeria for Bamako for the game against Djoliba,” Okoji said.
He said that team has put behind them their loss to Willamsville and are well motivated by His Excellency Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to perform in Bamako.
“Following the loss to Willamsville in Abidjan the team came back and have been fully fortified. They will go all out against Djoliba this weekend.
“The state government has been supportive to the team. His Excellency Okezie Ikpeazu is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the cup comes to Aba. My Governor (Okezie Ikpeazu) has been motivating the Elephant Boys and I think he will continue to do that.
The players would be looking to reciprocate the gesture of the Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu who gave the boys five thousand dollars ($5000) at their first training session at the newly refurbished Enyimba Stadium where he pledged his continued support of the team to see them do well in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup.
