Kano Pillars head coach, Abdu Maikaba has talked up his team’s chances of winning the league title this season after his side’s resurgence in form.
Kano Pillars annihilated Sunshine Stars 5-1 in Kano over the weekend to tell the story of how they have changed their fortune over the course of the season which started in a rather rough note for them as they lost to the same opponent on the opening matchday of the league season, including a run that saw them dished embarrassing losses away from home; 4-1 loss to Rangers and 3-0 loss to new boys Sporting Lagos.
With Kano Pillar’s last defeat coming against Niger Tornadoes December 21st last year, they have now gone six games unbeaten, picking up four win along the line and scoring in every game.
In a chat with Brila Media, Kano Pillars’ experienced coach, Abdu Maikaba expressed that the team there is a good chance that the team wins the league at the end of the season, or at least grab a continental slot for next season.
“I think if you see how things are going, I think we have every chance of finishing top. The way we are moving up the table, it shows clearly that the team is improving. And this could lead to winning the trophy or getting a continental position into the target for the team.”
Kano Pillars will look to maintaining their current form which has seen them climb up to the third position on the log whilst scoring the most goals in the league, when they play Katsina United, who they have already beaten in the reverse leg this season, tomorrow at 3PM.
