The former Wikki Tourists manager who guided Akwa United to their first Aiteo Cup Abdul Maikaba last year will be officially announced as the new manager of 2016/17 Nigeria professional football league champions Plateau United in coming days.
Maikaba left the Uyo based giants Akwa United after his contract expired at the end of the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football league 2017/18 season, where the team finished second with 41 points from 24 games before the league was put to stop.
A top source disclosed that the Abdul Maikaba has successfully held talks with the management of Plateau United “I can confirm that Abdul Maikaba will join Plateau United ahead of the new Nigeria Professional Football League season”
“He will be unveiled as the new technical adviser of the club when the team resume from their holiday break”, the source concluded.
Abdul Maikaba has been regarded as one of the most sorts after tactician in the history of Nigeria football and arguably in the Nigeria Professional Football League since his inception.
Before joining Akwa United, he worked with Wikki Tourists Football League where they almost snatched the league title from Rangers FC of Enugu in 2015/16 season.
