Abia Warriors have kicked off their preparations for the upcoming 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Following a brief break after the conclusion of last season, the team has reconvened to begin training.
The first day of training was notable for the introduction of new head coach Imama Amapakabo to the players.
Amapakabo returns to the club for his second spell earlier this month and is expected to lead the team through the new season.
In addition to resuming training, Abia Warriors are set to unveil their new signings later this week.
This comes after a challenging previous season where the club narrowly avoided relegation from the NPFL.
They managed to reach the final of the President Federation Cup but was defeated 2-0 by El-Kanemi Warriors.
The Umuahia-based club is positive about the upcoming season under Amapakabo’s guidance and is looking to build a stronger squad to improve their league standings and performance in cup competitions.
