Augustine Njoku, the captain of Abia Warriors, is filled with optimism as his team gears up for the highly-anticipated oriental derby clash against Rangers. The Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 30 fixture is set to unfold at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu today.
Despite Rangers’ formidable form, having lost only once in their last 10 league matches, Njoku remains undeterred. He expressed confidence in his team’s preparation and their ability to deliver a commendable performance against Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side.
In a statement to the club’s media, Njoku said, “I believe we can do better against Rangers in Enugu on Tuesday. We have had a long training session during the week and we have prepared ourselves adequately for the game.”
Acknowledging Rangers’ recent performances, Njoku emphasized that Abia Warriors approach every opponent with respect. He added, “We are not bothered about their current form as we respect any team we are playing against in the league. We will do our best to get a good result from the game.”
