Ademola Lookman secured another record in Atalanta’s last game of the 2023-24 Serie A season against Fiorentina on Sunday.
The game had earlier been delayed from its original date due to the illness and subsequent passing of Fiorentina director Joe Barone.
The 26 years-old scored and provided an assist in the 3-2 defeat at the Gewiss Stadium.
He striked to level Gian Piero Gasperini’s men after Fiorentina had taken the lead. He then assisted Giorgio Scalvini for Atalanta’s second equalizer after Nicolas Gonzalez put Fiorentina 2-1 up. Andrea Belotti scored just before halftime to secure the win for Fiorentina.
Ademola Lookman ended the 2023/2024 Serie A season with 11 goals and 7 assists.
He scored 10 of the 11 Serie A goals at the Gewiss Stadium, making him the player with the most home goals in the league for the 2023-24 season.
His goals at home came against Cagliari, Genoa, Napoli, AC Milan, Lecce, Bologna, Empoli, Torino, and Fiorentina. His only away goal was scored in a match against Fiorentina earlier in the season.
Following the conclusion of the Serie A season, Ademola Lookman is set to join the Nigeria squad for their World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin.
