Former Shooting Stars of Ibadan goalkeeper, Amusa Adisa has called on the League Management Company (LMC) to regularise the movement of players in Nigeria before they can travel out for a greener pasture abroad.
Adisa identified the lure for a better offer as the bane of the league and has tasked the LMC on the need for checks and balances.
“The rate at which our league players jump at the opportunity to play abroad is alarming,” the ex Nigeria international posited to Footballlive.ng.
“Do you blame those that move to countries like Lithuania, Armenia, Syria, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Andorra and Madagascar? They want to be known as foreign based players. Welfare in those countries is far better than what we have here.”
“The LMC should fashion out better innovations and strategy to ensure good welfare for teams in the league. Lack of sponsorship for the league hasn’t made things easy.”
“Players need to be educated on moves that befits their status and not deals to mushroom leagues.”
