FC Porto’s outgoing midfielder, Mikel Ndubuisi Agu has received a lifeline summer transfer option at AEK Athens of Greece.
AEK are mulling over a move for Agu before the close of the transfer window on August 31, as the Greek champions are in the market for a central midfielder.
Hapoel Beer Sheva’s John Ugochukwu Ogu was one of the names being linked with a possible move to the club, but AEK have turned their focus fully on Agu instead.
Agu has been forgotten at Porto and is not currently listed amongst their first team players and will definitely not be included on their Champions League roster if he does not move onto pastures new before the transfer window shuts.
The 25-year-old has been on the books of Porto since 2011 and has made only two appearances for the first team in the Primeira Liga.
He has not featured for Porto’s first team since the 2013-2014 season and has taken in loan spells at Club Brugge, Setubal and most recently Bursaspor.
