Ha Noi striker Ganiyu Bolaji Oseni provided an assist for his team as they were at the receiving end of a 4-1 thumping against Shandong Luneng on Tuesday.
The Vietnam League champions couldn’t withstand the firepower of the Chinese side who were ruthless in the AFC Champions League match at the Jinan Olympic Sports Center Stadium.
Samson Olaleye Kayode wasn’t listed for the match which ended in favour of Shandong Luneng.
Oseni, 27, was on hand to tee up Nguyễn Văn Quyết for the curtain raiser in the 39th minute.
The former Golden Eaglets forward lasted the entire match duration.
Goals from Liu Junshuai, Graziano Pellè,
Liu Binbin and Zhou Haibin helped the hosts flatten Ha Noi.
It will be recalled that Oseni bagged 17 goals in 22 appearances for Ha Noi as they emerged as the V-League champions last season.
Ha Noi will begin their V-League title defence with a game against Than Quang Ninh at Sân vận động Hàng Đẫy (Hang Day Stadium) on Saturday.
