Nantes player, Moses Simon says it’s important for Nigeria to begin their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a win.
Nigeria will face Benin Republic in their first match at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday.
Nigeria lost 2-1 to Benin in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier last June, and Simon believes the team must aim for a victory this time.
“All Nigerians are expecting a win, so we will do our best,” Simon said. “The most important thing for Nigeria is to get the victory.”
Moses Simon also mentioned the need to avenge their last defeat and start the qualifiers on a strong note.
