Super Eagles’ goalkeepers’ trainer, Alloy Agu has disclosed that he is always eager to see every Nigerian shot-stopper record clean sheets when in action for their clubs or the national team.
Footballlive.ng reports that Agu reckons that clean sheets at club level would always rub off on appearances with the national team, hence his prayer that God will help all Nigeria’s shot-stoppers to keep doing well.
Speaking against the backdrop of the Eagles’ goalless draw against The Cranes of Uganda on Tuesday, Agu, who is now a pastor, said he was happy to see Chippa United of South Africa star, Daniel Akpeyi in goal.
Apart from just seeing Akpeyi back in the Eagles’ starting line-up, after losing his spot in June 2017, Agu added that it was encouraging that the former Heartland of Owerrri and Warri Wolves keeper got a clean sheet.
Agu, though, stopped shot of rooting for Akpeyi to return as Nigeria’s number one heading into the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, as the ex-Eagles first choice in goal said he wishes all Eagles’ goalkeepers well.
