Aigbogun Cuts Flying Eagles’ Players To 24

Nigeria’s youth national team, Flying Eagles’ coach, Paul Aigbogun has cut the number of players in his camp to 24, as he enters the last phase of his preparations for this week’s first leg of their final fixture in the African U-20 Nations Cup qualifiers.

Ahead of the trip to Mauritania on Tuesday, Aigbogun has rolled out a list of Aigbogun has released a squad of 18 for the away game and placed six others on standby.

The Enyimba of Aba coach hinted that only 18 will make the trip from the remaining 24 players in camp, following Saturday’s weeding of the excess number in camp.

Among those dropped are the team’s top striker, Jerome Akor, as well as the reliable right full back, Mike Zaruma, who had to be axed due to injury.

Also missing is former CHAN Eagles attacker, Peter Eneji, who is said to be out of the country in search of an overseas club.
