Chelsea of England defender, Ola Aina is standing tall and looking forward to better prospects for his career, following his loan move to AS Torino of Italy at the weekend.
The 21-year-old Aina went for his medical on Monday, after Torino announced his capture in a deal that includes an option to buy for eight million euro.
It came after the Turin-based club warded off similar interest from Serie A newcomers, Frosinone as well as the English Championship trio of West Bromwich Albion, Queens Park Rangers and Derby County.
Dramatically, Aina arrived at Torino just as fellow-Nigerian, Joel Chukwuma Obi was on his way of the club in a full transfer to another Serie A side, Chievo Verona.
In making the move, Aina steps out of England for the first time, after spending the whole of last season on loan at Hull City, where he was a regular for the Championship outfit.
Aina spent pre-season with Chelsea but does not feature in Maurizio Sarri’s plans going forward, with The Blues’ coach already having Cesar Azpilicueta and Davide Zappacosta battling it out on the right-hand side.
