Aiteo Cup: We came for revenge against Enyimba – Ibrahim Musa

Date:

Kano Pillars coach Ibrahim Musa says getting a win against Enyimba International in the quarter final of the Aiteo Cup is a revenge for the points they lost to them in the first leg first phase of the 2017/2018 Nigeria Professional League in Kano.

Pillars played a 1 – 1 draw with the People’s Elephant in February of 2018 which the coach has attributed to one of the reasons Pillars failed to pick the CAF Champions League ticket ahead of Lobi Stars.

Ibrahim Musa has also likened a tie between both sides as the Nigerian El Classico. “Enyimba is a great team in Nigeria so is Kano Pillars. It is just like a match that can be compared to the Real Madrid Barcelona El Classico in Spain.

Enyimba came to Kano and got a point in the NPFL and we planned to revenge in the second leg but unfortunately, the league ended the way it did so we decided to take our revenge in the Aiteo Cup. The boys played well and also to instruction, we could have scored more but notwithstanding we won.”

Next stop for Kano Pillars in the Aiteo Cup is the semi final fixture against Kastina United which will see the Musa Gida boys return to the Agege stadium in Lagos on October 10.
